Would 840qm fit? It only handles 620m and seems to fall short. They claim 1333mhz RAM but I'm using 8GB at 1600mhz, which doesn’t add up. My current CPU (480m) also isn’t compatible.

Task manager shows 1600MHz, but you're unsure about CPU-Z. You might start with the 740QM since you own it, and if that's fine, the 840QM could also be a good option.

You already have a 720QM unit—just proceed with that and keep it if it performs well. It’s only slightly worse than the 840QM version.
