Hey everyone, I'm planning to assemble a compact gaming PC for my sister. She's using an AMD Athlon system with Vista installed—definitely a working copy! She mainly plays Minecraft, Slim Rancher, and The Sims. I’m curious if an i3 7100 would work here. I assume the core performance will be similar to her i7-4790K, but I’m not entirely sure. Since she doesn’t play heavily, a non-water-cooled i7 wouldn’t be necessary, but I still want something that’s reliable without being too expensive.

I tested Battlefield 1 on an older i3 4160 and it performed excellently, hitting 60 FPS with ultra settings. For a better value, the G4560 offers similar performance at a lower price.

Thanks a lot! Do you really believe a Pentium would suffice?

It seems like you're comparing Pentium processors to outdated or low-quality CPUs. They’re essentially considered wasteful and inefficient compared to modern standards.

The Pentium G4560 is a Kaby-Lake dual-core processor with hyper-threading, which is uncommon for a Pentium. It’s essentially a mildly underclocked i3 at a lower cost. I’d suggest purchasing it only if you want to cut expenses slightly.

Hey team, usually I rely on CPUBoss for decisions, but it seems they haven’t released 7th generation statistics yet.

With plenty of imagination, you can play on anything.
