Battery performance seems limited by the components inside. It offers more power than my Mac for gaming, editing photos and videos, but its runtime is likely around half an hour. I haven't tested it yet, but my Mac lasts about 11 hours. The Mac probably handles tasks faster since it uses PCIe SSDs instead of SATA drives. Everyone's needs are different—while I wouldn't use a blade for its intended purpose, I'd find it unnecessary otherwise. My main machine is a high-end desktop with a solid SSD, and my smaller 13-inch Retina Mac is great for note-taking and browsing.

Compared to my MBA, the Blade's battery seems quite naive. I can last a full two to three school days without charging, depending on how much I need it for each day, which is impressive.

Prior to switching to the PCMR, I played mostly Minecraft on Macs since my dad was an Apple employee and they were often given away. They’re not great value for money, but they work when you have them for free.
