Don't worry about hybrid drives, they don't add much value I think.

I’ll remove that CPU cooler right away and switch to a solid air cooler such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212. Those budget AIO options are just not worth it—they’re prone to failure and you’ll always be concerned about them breaking down.

Performance is solid this time. For quieter operation, consider a 970 with a good cooler and a large CPU cooler featuring silent or slow fans (like the NH-D15). Also, your system is already set up for overclocking; if you prefer not to do that, you might save money by avoiding it.

They likely plan to boost the performance for him because it's a ready-made unit. However, your argument remains valid if he prefers no CPU adjustments at all.

A quieter CPU cooler such as the NH-D15 would definitely help. For the GPU, consider what models are known for lower noise levels—some newer designs are much quieter than older ones. Let me know if you need more suggestions!
