You can play games and remain idle while your PC is off, but it depends on the game settings and system resources. Some games may pause or suspend automatically, while others might require manual intervention. Check the game's instructions or settings for details.

Running a game requires significant processing power, so your computer shouldn't be idle while it's playing.

You're right, it wouldn't apply if your PC isn't running. Doing this could also be seen as cheating.

You're asking about earning rewards simply by playing a game without actively participating, and you're curious if any modern games offer such a system.

The computer must be powered on for the game to start. It’s similar to attempting to drive a vehicle without fuel.

A game is a software designed to operate on your machine, but it won’t function after the computer is turned off. That’s not feasible.

I enjoy keeping my PC running while turning off the monitor, and I also prevent it from sleeping so it can work continuously overnight.

Are you expanding your drug empire in GTA Online? You can't disable everything, but you can mute any LED effects, adjust the fan curve for silence, and turn off speakers and monitors. A lag switch helps keep sessions private, preventing unexpected explosions that might shake your controller. It shouldn’t disturb you much while you focus on building your product line.

Your PC needs to be running in order to keep a game idle. For Steam farming cards, I’ve managed to use ASF (ArchiSteamFarm) to let several games run simultaneously without installing them, and it shuts down once all cards are collected.

This seems like something that could work on a mobile device. You're right, you wouldn't need to install the games directly. Just think about using Steam on a Windows phone—maybe it's possible!
