Someone mentioned needing a Z170 motherboard for the task. Another suggested checking if the graphics card can be overclocked, as that isn't dependent on the board. They also noted the i5 6600K is designed for overclocking and recommended choosing a non-overclocking CPU if you don’t need it. A comparison between Z170A GAMING PRO and Z170A GAMING PRO Carbon was asked about.

I'll take the carbon version if possible—it provides similar features to the Pro, with additional LEDs and a specific type of port on the back. Also, you just need a Z170 board to boost the CPU's performance. Overclocking a GPU works with any board.
