My laptop is a Medion P6512 AMD Athlon with 3GB RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM iGPU. Can these be modified into a Hackintosh? Upgrading for around £10 could help, such as adding more RAM or a quad-core processor.

It really depends on the motherboard; laptops aren't guaranteed. Optiplex could work, but it might be selective. I wouldn't expect a big Sur update there. I'd probably go with the latest OSX version.

The newest macOS version now includes Intel GMA graphics support, making older OSX versions unsupported. Running OSX without a GPU accelerator feels quite basic.

Yes, it should work. You can set up a dual boot with both Windows and OS X. Your Ryzen 1400 and 8GB RAM are compatible with the GT730.

Nvidia GPU not recommended. It seems you might be able to use it in a virtual environment, but that’s the extent of it.

That's correct, the only option among those would be your Ryzen processor. It's not available natively, and virtualized environments don't matter much since files can be easily relocated.

I can try to run Ryzen processors on Big Sur without a virtual setup, but it’s very challenging and not worth it unless you’re really stuck.

You can experience big Sur in a virtual setting, but it requires certain conditions to be met.
