I have an Optus modem and can I link a TP-Link Wireless N router as a range extender? The sentences were formatted incorrectly.

Connecting a LAN cable from the modem to the WAN on your TP-Link might affect your network performance.

I operate a comparable configuration at home. My Optus modem connects to a switch and then distributes signals to each Ethernet port throughout my house. I use an Ubiquiti wireless access point as an alternative for Wi-Fi instead of relying solely on the Optus connection. So far everything functions smoothly with consistent speeds, though I’m limited to 100Mbps. Everything wired performs at gigabit levels. It’s frustrating having to route traffic through Optus’ router for internet access; I’d appreciate a more straightforward solution.

It won't affect your internet speed when you move the LAN cable from your modem to a wireless Wi-Fi connection.

This upgrade won't be worth the investment unless you're not limited by space. I've used a similar TP-Link N access point, but the coverage isn't sufficient for my large home.

It shouldn’t affect much. Your connection will likely be more influenced by your real ISP’s performance since Australian internet service is generally poor.
