You haven’t got an SSD yet, but your new rig is ready. You can install your OS on the existing HDD for now, and once it’s set up, you can switch to using the SSD as your main drive. SSDs are faster, so they’ll improve boot times and performance. If you later upgrade, you can migrate the OS from the HDD to the SSD.

You might try cloning the HDD to an SSD using cloning tools, though this isn't advised.

Following the SSD purchase for Christmas, I strongly believe a fresh installation is essential. Also, remember to configure your hard drive under Advanced Power Options so it stays on!

It’s wiser to hold off until you have an SSD. Is an SSD truly more advantageous than an HDD for installing your operating system?

The system now reacts much faster. Old rules suggest placing your operating system and frequently used apps on the SSD, while keeping the traditional drive for bulk storage, which seems to function effectively.

Adjusting the duration beyond a certain point can cause your system to crash when you wake up.
