Check if your CPU and motherboard have ECC RAM support. If yes, proceed; otherwise, it's not compatible.

Checking 1600 DDR3 looks promising as it's significantly cheaper than DDR3 1333. Likely more units are available. I believe 1600 is a solid choice, especially if it stays around 1333 MHz.

The i5 model doesn’t accept ECC memory, meaning a compatible motherboard is unlikely to function properly.

Only non-ECC RAM is supported. If a non-ECC server RAM were available, it would not be compatible with the current setup.

Usually, every server uses ECC memory. But if you used regular RAM instead, it would still function properly.

Server RAM uses ECC technology, which is why it's common in servers. ECC-unbuffered or non-registered versions function without ECC features, but they won't take advantage of it. This type of RAM is significantly more expensive compared to standard DDR3. The budget-friendly options are ECC-registered and buffered, but they only work with motherboards and CPUs that support ECC.
