Check your disk usage; Linux will alert you if the partition is nearly full. Shrinking it may be necessary if it approaches capacity.

Linux should handle everything during installation, or you might reduce your Windows partition and simply install Linux into the unused space. I’d prefer Linux to manage it rather than letting Windows attempt to alter the partition it uses.
