I mean whether it's feasible to set up a Windows event or use the task scheduler so a PC can automatically power down at certain times and wake up at others. With my HTPC it's mostly used as a Plex server, so it stays idle most of the time. I want to conserve energy but avoid manually turning it off or setting sleep mode, since I need it ready whenever anyone in the house wants to stream something. Using Windows events or tasks would be helpful if I could have it automatically shut down around 2 or 3 AM and wake up about 4 to 5 hours later.

It may shut down automatically at certain times or after a period of inactivity, but I believe it can't be set to wake up at a particular moment.

Certain routers include a wake-on-LAN capability allowing you to set automatic wake-up times for a computer or perform actions manually.
