You're looking to extend your internet connection from your PS3 to a PC using Ethernet. It's possible if you can set up the PS3 as a Wi-Fi access point and connect your PC via Ethernet.

It seems the PS3 doesn't support that feature.

Avoid using a regular WiFi card and opt for a dedicated one.

You may also connect your Wi-Fi using your Android phone. I’m uncertain about iOS devices since I don’t own one.

Yes, Ethernet cables can be inexpensive. Choosing a longer cable might help reduce the number of connections needed and save costs.

That's why I mentioned I'm probably going to purchase a longer cable (10/15m) with Cat 6 or 7. I don't know which one yet. Right now, I'm using a laptop to bridge the connection, but it makes the internet really slow. This laptop is pretty old and makes a lot of noise.
