Sure! The USB port labeled "BIOS" on your Asus X570-e can indeed be used as a regular USB port. You can connect peripherals like keyboards or mice without any issues. Just be aware that using it for BIOS updates won’t affect your system’s normal operation, and it won’t interfere with booting the computer.

Yes, it functions as a standard USB port. The main variation is that pressing the button on the back causes the board to look for a BIOS file on a USB drive connected to that port. This feature helps with fixing boards that have BIOS issues.

You're right to consider it. Setting up an old USB drive with the newest BIOS can be a good backup strategy.

Unless you frequently power down your PC during BIOS updates, it's unlikely you'll require its use. However, it serves a useful role for that 256 MB storage unit in the back of the cabinet. (Do you have this too? It's common, isn't it?)

Hey, do you need a backup USB stick or a micro SD card? I have plenty of extra drives I can share—just one or two if you don’t have anything larger than 64MB. Thanks for bringing this up again, but I’m not sure what else to say. I just started using this forum.
