Recently, my Windows 10 stopped working properly and I had to reinstall it. After that, I faced a problem where the update process wouldn’t start. I added two SSDs and set up a dual-boot with Pop OS. Now I’m trying to build a Windows VM so if it fails again, I can restart from scratch more easily. I’m wondering if it’s possible to point the VM at the Windows drives I just installed. That way I could access my files without having to reinstall everything. Also, I wanted to see if I could set up the VM in a way that preserves data if I have to start over. Ideally, I’d like to avoid losing my current Windows installation and instead move the key onto the VM if there’s a way to reset Windows without repeatedly reinstalling. I’m open to suggestions, even if they seem complex. This would be helpful since I don’t want to deal with moving my license or constantly restarting from scratch. Edit: July 18, 2021 – iajadsfa
