Hello everyone, I enjoy gaming and music production. I'm planning to upgrade my rig for new VSTs. I currently have a 32GB system (two 16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo at 3600MHz). If I purchase the same setup with a total of 64GB, will it function perfectly? Same frequency and latency? You mentioned compatibility concerns with RAM for Ryzen 3000 processors, but I'm not sure about Ryzen 5000 CPUs.

He addresses that topic early in the video. The RAM likely has stock timings such as B-die with 16-16-16 or possibly Rev E. If it’s suitable for overclocking, you won’t lose much when reselling it to get four B-die sticks.

It matches the identical RAM configuration and should function at 100% efficiency

The model number 16-19-19-39 typically corresponds to a Samsung device.

Sure, I can try to clarify that. Thaiphoon might need more details or look at an overclocking forum. It’s definitely not a big deal. It could be useful if you have 4 sticks of B-die, depending on how much memory tweaking you want to do. Or when Ryzen supports a 2000mhz IF clock, the B-die will be available. Generally, 64GB isn’t essential unless you’re running heavy production tasks. In the video, there are several software backup solutions running continuously.

They’re likely genuine Hynix ICs, though some might fail. Not Samsung B die, but that’s not a major issue. It’s decent—neither bad nor excellent. Pairing them with another identical RAM module of matching specifications should work well.

so, even 4000MHz speeds aren't necessary...yet?

I’m not adjusting the RAM manually in any way, just applying the XMP profile. I’d like to see 4000MHz RAM, but I’m unsure if my system will gain from it. I have a 5900X and plan to match it with a 3090.

You don’t require 4000mhz RAM; just B-die can handle it smoothly at good speeds. A Ryzen 5000 could reach around 2000mhz with updates, while the Ryzen 6000 will definitely hit that mark. You might manage 1900mhz and 3800mhz on the RAM, but I don’t believe it offers significant benefits for gaming.
