You're considering an upgrade for your laptop's RAM. Since it currently has only 8GB but you plan to use it for video editing, you're thinking about moving to 12GB. Most laptops with 8GB have dual-channel 2x4GB memory, but yours seems to be single-channel. You found a good deal on a compatible SODIMM module at 3200MHz DDR4. Your main concern is whether this change will affect performance—like losing 10 FPS—and if it's manageable. It really depends on your specific use case and how much of a difference 12GB makes for your workflow.

Usually it relies on the lower latency, meaning if a CL16 and a CL17 are present, they'll both operate with CL17. You shouldn't encounter significant stability issues, probably.
