Are there any versions of Assetto Corsa or Project Cars that run smoothly at high frame rates? What hardware configuration was required to achieve over 90fps? You mentioned Oculus releasing the Rift specs—expecting 2160 x 1200 at 90Hz. To hit that performance, you’d need a system meeting those minimum requirements.

It doesn't need to maintain a minimum of 90fps; that's simply the highest frame rate it can achieve with the noticeable visual gap.

At 2160x1200 resolution my system handles it smoothly. Probably not at full capacity for every game, but still clear enough without any issues. Going lower would cause discomfort. It's impressive how much smoother everything feels when the display fits closely on your face.

Low frame rates become clearly obvious when you wear something on your face.

It's not quite the lowest level yet, though I'm not claiming it's perfect—just that you can still enjoy it.

Palmer and Brendan recommend a high-quality VR session with a stable 90fps frame rate, repeated enough to deeply impact the VR audience.

PC Gamer shared the latest specs needed for running the Oculus Rift on a PC. The article highlights the required hardware: NVIDIA GTX 970 or higher, AMD 290 equivalent or better, at least 8GB RAM, HDMI 1.3 support, two USB 3.0 ports, and Windows 7 SP1 or newer. It suggests taking note of these details before diving in.

Oculus suggested focusing on VR titles for the CV1, which seemed sensible with a decent 2160 x 1200 resolution. Assetto Corsa and Project Cars were already solid PC and console racing experiences that added VR support later. I’m curious about the minimum requirements to keep performance smooth and visually appealing in VR.

It might seem questionable at first, but if you could test it at 45fps, which is definitely possible, there shouldn't be any tearing issues.
