I'm considering replacing the case on my Dell 7020 and want to cut costs by upgrading to a larger case. I need to confirm whether a typical 4-pin connector can still serve as the CPU power cable after the upgrade, or if Dell has changed the wiring layout making it incompatible.

Seems to have an atypical power connector on the motherboard and front panel connectors.

I was aware of the front panel connectors, but it’s surprising. I’ve been searching for an adapter, but nothing’s worked. I was hoping to avoid spending around $120 on a new motherboard, but it seems I might need to make the change.

Used a Dell 7010 motherboard and had to modify components to fit a regular case. The CPU power connector was standard, while the front panel parts were unique. I’m not sure about your specific model.

I didn’t receive a response. I ended up purchasing a new motherboard instead of buying all the adapters. I realized it would cost more than getting a new one with additional features.
