i hope i captured a shot of my 2gb ecc gdie sticks, but mostly i managed to use some (m392b5673gb0) with a w3503 on an x58a ud3r just for that reason. my w3680 and w3670 refused to post with them, and the sticks just wouldn’t connect maybe because of their low-profile ddr3 dimms exceptions. there are exceptions though—usually you won’t see ecc dimms working on a consumer board unless your chip supports it. x4 dimms likely won’t work either on most boards, so high-density sticks with low-density ones don’t usually perform well unless they’re designed for it.
