For instance, could she use Blender for render tasks while you play games, switching between a keyboard/mouse in Blender and your Xbox controller on another screen? The main concern would be coordinating the focus between the keyboard/mouse and the controller.

The sole method to achieve this would involve a VM solution or third-party tools such as Aster. I haven't tried what you're attempting and lack direct experience with Aster, but it appears this is the path you should consider.
