I’m planning to build a budget server and I came across some Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs for around $69 each. I want to pair them with a Dell Precision board, especially the RN4PJ model, and I’m curious if it supports those types of processors. I’m also thinking about using it for personal servers, VMs, and workstations—why not? I’m not sure if it will work with the dual socket motherboard.

Interesting but I wasn't expecting 3647 to be that affordable. For mobile compatibility it's unclear which board you choose, though I'm pretty sure Dell won't support ES-CPUs. A Supermicro might be a better fit. A more budget-friendly pick could be an Xeon E5 2683 v3 14 core (~20$ on AliExpress) paired with a dual socket 2011-3 board (price around $100 for the cheapest options). This setup ensures guaranteed compatibility since it's not an ES-CPU.

It's actually a pretty good concept, but any official Dell help would probably say it's unsupported since they don't officially back CPUs—either they function or they don't.

I searched up and they def dont work on dell motherboards, but theres a modded bios on ebay I can buy for 40 bucks
