The Ryzen 5 5500GT fits the HP Pavilion TG01-2170m. I own a barebones model from that build for $40, but 3000 CPUs don’t work there. Only the 5300G, 5600G, and 5700G are officially supported. I haven’t tested a non-G 5000 CPU yet, though my microcenter has a 5500GT open box. Could it work?

It seems like you're suggesting a possibility. If you bring parts, they might allow you to test it out before making a purchase.

If it's in an open box, you should give it a shot. Swapping it back won't cause much trouble.

On most boards I’ve worked with, the BIOS version needed for the 5600G matches that required for the 5600GT. There’s a high likelihood of success, and as noted, you can always return it if necessary.

It shared a message. However, there appears to be an admin password in the BIOS. I'm not sure if the previous owner added it or if it's a standard setting.

passwords aren't usually the standard setting. Clearing the CMOS often removes the password by turning off the coin cell for a few minutes

I attempted that. It serves as a password for accessing the BIOS. I’m able to start Windows normally, but I’m having trouble getting into the BIOS settings.

I used the incorrect jumper. The password jumper functioned.
