Yes, you can choose any SSD for any motherboard. About 99.99% of the time there won’t be compatibility issues.

The SSD works well with the motherboard. For optimal speed, use the top M.2 port, but note that ASATA3 0 and 1 will not function, so relocate any SATA devices to the remaining four ports: Spoiler

This detail is frequently hidden, leading some buyers to purchase expensive NVMe drives only to discover they won't fit due to the board's limitations. For example, my ASUS VivoBook can only use M.2 SATA interfaces.

The modern desktop motherboard works perfectly fine. The B450 usually includes NVMe ports. I also checked the motherboard model and confirmed it supports NVMe.
