You might need a live Ubuntu USB drive to transfer files from your Windows 7 folders to your Windows 10 ones (file permissions aren’t an issue in Ubuntu). After that, use a partition manager like gparted to remove the Windows 7 partition.

You might be confused about the partition changes in Windows 7 on a Windows 10 system. To check or modify partitions, open Disk Management, then assign letters to your Windows 7 partition.
