CS:GO is definitely doable with almost any setup. CS:1.6 is quite enjoyable and needs a PC from around 2001. CS: Source works similarly. I prefer Counter Strike. Blacklight: Retribution and Insurgency are also great options.

Your take on meh is based on PC specifications. Generally, it refers to Counter Strike Source (CS GO is fine, I prefer the source version) Killing Floor, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Battlefield 2 (check battelog.co), Bad Company, and Quake Live.
