You should consider upgrading your CPU/platform well before Gen5 storage becomes practical, unless you're handling massive file volumes every day—then your needs will shift. By then, you might find Gen3 offers more convenience than Gen4.

Looking for a match for 14700KF... ATX, Z790. Considering this 2 MB card that ships ready out of the box, but if you have any better ideas, I'd love to hear them! GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS Elite X WIFI7 Asrock Z790 LiveMixer

It's still pretty limited even in Gen4 for regular tasks like browsing or gaming. You might notice some advantages when handling huge files, video editing at high resolution, or similar activities—but that's mostly niche use. It's a very specific scenario.

The Pcie 5 isn't required at all—just stick with your existing motherboard if you're upgrading a current build (except for models like the H610). These should all function fine. Choose a suitable motherboard from PCPartPicker.

No such thing, and no need for Gen 5 SSD's now or in 5 years. Buy what you need now, as in 5 years what you have may be not what evolves.
