Typically, the LAN port is used for wired backhaul or initial configuration.

Looool shopee offers some options, though quality varies. You might find a suitable device at a lower cost, but performance will likely be average. Your signal strength may improve slightly, but expect slow internet speeds. The extender’s Ethernet port connects directly to the router for better setup—using your PC via Ethernet would provide a more stable connection.

Additionally, connecting it to the PC port might cause it to start smoking and burn out if it's not working properly.

It doesn't need to be physically linked. It connects to a wall outlet somewhere between your computer and router. It links wirelessly to your router, after which your setup guides your computer to join it. What happens is that your current Wi-Fi name—say "AlexStarr"—gets changed to "AlexStarr_ext," and your device is then directed to connect using this new identifier.

You require a WiFi mesh extender. Linking it to your PC would only show setup options. This won’t cause any issues.
