You found a used B650e board on Amazon. It has an AM5 socket and a few middle pins that seem misaligned. After searching online, it looks like the top view doesn’t show any bending, but it’s tricky to confirm from a closer look.

Notices two pins on the left side in the initial image. The remaining pictures are blurry and unclear. Try viewing from a narrow perspective, aligning the plane of the socket (eye level), and verify alignment with nearby pins. Rotate the board 90 degrees and recheck.

In this image, several pins appear distorted. If you can maintain control, attempt to gently realign them. From left to right, the left pin seems to need pushing downward. The middle pin, likely similar but more delicate, requires extra care. The right pin faces the same challenge. The middle and right pins are positioned nearly upright in the socket, so proceed with caution. Additionally, when you removed the box, was there a protective cover for the motherboard?

It did include a socket cover. It seems the item might have been damaged when it arrived, possibly due to something falling on it during shipping. You're planning to check your processor next Thursday. Decide whether to begin the return process with Amazon or wait until you receive the processor.

deliver the item and receive a replacement soon. Even if it might become an issue later, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I performed this task on an LGA2011-3 server once, using dental picks. It worked, though the pins didn't appear completely uniform since they reflected light differently. Place a small piece of paper, such as a Post-It note or index card, between the rows of pins to help visualize the bending.

If you're not confident aligning the pins yourself, consider returning the board. I've also tried using tooth picks—removed my 4790K from the socket while getting it ready for storage and used them instead. Dropping it at an angle required fixing at least three pins. A useful idea I didn’t think about was inserting an index card between the rows of pins.

Pins are damaged simply stop working. If you're not skilled or steady, I wouldn't suggest bending pins. I've bent many times when boards arrived with bent pins—preferably bent pins would be better since the problem is obvious. Most cases are easy; just gently nudge the pin into place. Some have straight pins (don’t sit right), others have pins bent backward (hard to fix). You’ll need both hands, a razor, and a needle to do it at once. For tools, a razor and needle work well—just learn how to use them properly.

You should consider using it unless you're certain about the repair. Straighten the pins carefully to avoid damaging your processor.
