I run an RTX 2060 with an i7-7700k. I upgraded my GPU a year ago and haven’t changed my CPU in five years. I’m considering a CPU replacement and want to know if the Ryzen 5 3600 is suitable for 1080p gaming. Also, which motherboard supports six SATA ports?

The Intel i5 11400 works with your current MSI B250M Gaming Pro board. If you switch to a Ryzen 5 3600, you'll need to upgrade the motherboard.

The 7700 remains a fully functional CPU in 2021. I’d wait for the next generation unless you want to upgrade. Everyone will use a different socket and run DDR5 next year—now isn’t the right moment to change if your setup is solid.
