I aim to upgrade my I7 6700K to this powerful model, but I'm unsure if my power supply can handle it. I've also completed a full AMD build since I'll be running Void Linux, similar to my previous setup.

The PSU should work in that configuration. You can replace the RAM with something similar like the G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL28 Memory mentioned. This part is available on PCPartPicker.

Sure, I’m ready. I’m just starting out with Ryzen and unsure if I’m budgeting enough. I’m looking for a strong workstation that handles streaming and gaming smoothly, plus something great for game development using UE5.

I’d adjust a few aspects of your setup. The CPU components seem okay. I’d upgrade the PSU to a higher model for easier future upgrades. Regarding the display, is it 1440p or 4K? This build includes a 7900 XTX and a 1000W PSU with lower latency RAM, which should boost performance on an AM5 board. The cooler I’m using works similarly to the AK620 for better efficiency.

PCPartPicker list:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz (€464.88 @ Amazon Italia)
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB (€43.90 @ Amazon Italia)
Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 (€213.87 @ Amazon Italia)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL28 (€126.80 @ Alternate Italia)
Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVMe SSD (€148.65 @ Amazon Italia)
Video Card: XFX Speedster MERC 310 Black Edition RX 7900 XTX 24 GB (€1049.00 @ Amazon Italia)
Case: Lian Li LANCOOL 216 ATX Mid Tower (€143.79 @ Amazon Italia)
Power Supply: Corsair RM1000e (2023) 1000 W, 80+ Gold certified, fully modular (€158.03 @ Amazon Italia)

Overall cost: €2348.92 (shipping, taxes, discounts applied where possible).

Currently I have a 1080p 165Hz monitor from BenQ and a 1440p 60Hz one from Lenovo. I’m not sure about them, but I’d like to upgrade to a 4K monitor at 120Hz.

When the resolution is 4K, I’d choose the higher option since the 7900 XT is better for 1440p GPUs while the 7900 XTX fits 4K.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, an i7-6700K with RX 580 and 32GB RAM can definitely support a 4K display. That should give you a solid setup for better performance and visuals.

If you sell components individually, a possible price for an Intel Core i7-6700K is around 130 euros. RAM options include Corsair VENGEANCE LPX with 32GB at about 60 euros or 50 euros, and the RX 580 with 8GB GDDR5 at roughly 100 euros if it's an 8GB model. A case typically costs about 30 euros, while a gaming PC case like Gamemax shine G517 is around 450 euros total. The PSU should be approximately 50 euros, and the storage could be 30 euros for SSD or 70 euros for HDD depending on size.

It might be possible to use the same PSU and AIO cooler again.
