Oops, I misjudged. While browsing for boards, I assumed MSI offered Zen 3 support right out of the box with their maximum series.

The 'max' line wasn't announced by MSI following problems with all Zen 3 CPUs on the B450. Users noted the BIOS update was challenging and the RAM range improved. Back then, 'max' boards came with a Zen 3000 ready BIOS. Of course, I get that things might have changed since then, including the BIOS.
Oh man, I messed up there! I thought Ryzen 2000 was Zen 2 and so on, but it’s actually Zen 3. And I didn’t realize Zen 3 is a 5xxx model. Since then I haven’t assembled a new PC (sign).
