Hello everyone, I'm a bit uncertain about posting here, but I think it's the right place. Recently, I purchased a second-hand motherboard, an Intel DQ77MK, which has a connector that resembles an M.2 slot. The Intel website doesn't clearly confirm this, and online searches only bring up odd server cards. I'm trying to verify before making a purchase. The port is located in the lower right corner, next to the SATA ports. If you own this motherboard or know what it's used for, your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The bottom right area resembles an MSATA connection, but there isn’t an M.2 port visible. CORRECTION: Likely a MiniPCIe interface, as mentioned earlier, my mistake.
This model was released about a year before the first boards featuring M.2 slots appeared (like Z97), and even then they were uncommon with M.2 ports. Intel also didn’t provide BIOS updates for these devices initially. Given that background, I’m sure this board wouldn’t work with M.2 drives in any form.
