In general, the target motherboard appears to be LGA775. The Q6700 wasn’t as quick as the Q9450, but only about 20% slower at best. It was a 4/4 chip instead of a 2/2, and it lacked hyperthreading. Its single-core speeds were quite solid. The 9450 offered better performance. The 4/4 design helped it last through early “I” generation hardware. It’s possible this line is resistant to specter/meltdown issues since it didn’t use predictive multitasking. I wouldn’t recommend placing one near a network connection, though—I used to have one and might still need to consider it. Eventually I upgraded to a 4770k, which I still have.
