The issue lies with top-end chips like i7 and i9; i5 models are generally fine. LGA 1700 is considered outdated depending on your needs and budget—AM5 (Ryzen 7000 series) or AM4 (Ryzen 3000/5000) are better options. AM4 remains viable while minimizing risks, but Intel has updated its stance. Edited March 19, 2025 by Millios

I'm focusing on video editing, particularly using Adobe tools. Quicksync and IGPU make a big difference, which is why I'm choosing them.

Consider revising the i5-14400 later, as unlocking SA will boost memory performance slightly

Received a 13,400 from your friend. Excellent work, particularly in video editing. A solid choice if the cost fits the value.

what country is this? what about the budget? are there other uses besides video editing? 13400 and 14400 are just crippled 12600ks, so it's better to go with 12600k instead. Pair it with some affordable Z690 or 790 chips.

The cost of the 12600k might be lower than the 13400 and it could also be quicker.

Additionally, there were oxidation issues on the lower tier 13th generation chips caused by manufacturing defects. Intel stated these occurred only in an "early" production run, though reports suggest a larger number of impacted processors exist.
