Considering the G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB memory is it suitable? Are there any drawbacks to note? I’ve used Corsair before and experienced reliability issues, just like my repair guy mentioned. Right now, I’m exploring alternatives such as Kingston HyperX if that’s better. I had to act quickly due to a competitive situation.
What corsair memory? Their stuff is fine no reason to switch if you already have it. The gskill stuff is also fine just more expensive due to the rgb.
It seems there wasn’t much info available about RGB options, which made things costly. I recently faced the same issue again—same type, died quickly after installation, just a week later. It worked when opened, no visible issues, everything installed correctly. My current one is having problems now and isn’t performing well.
I am running Corsair LPX right now. Understanding your ram manufacturer will help rule out unconscious bias. The ram I have is made by SK Hynix, some are made by Samsung etc... There's always going to be brand loyalty and naysayers. I got my kit for $50 used when it's about $70-75 new. The point I am trying to make, is that there isn't just one "Good" company, or "The Better Option". You can always OC ram, tighten timings, so what is shown on the website you are buying from isn't always 100% accurate. The kit I have runs @ 3200MHz out the box with the XMP profile, but I have it currently set to 3400MHz, 1700/1700 for Mem/Fabric Clocks. I'll push it a bit more once I do more testing for stability, but the timings are stock @ 16-18-18-36 1T. I suggest getting the cheapest 3200-3600MHz kit of ram you can find, even Facebook Marketplace (where I get 99% of my stuff from) and tweaking the settings from stock value. If you don't want to bother, then just get a good kit of 3200-3600MHz with an XMP and decent timings, and leave it alone. I guess there is some noticeable FPS difference from 3200-3600MHz, but I haven't noticed much *shrug* (placebo, or maybe like 5-10) This is what I am running Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) - PCPartPicker (OC'd to 3400MHz) Here are a couple good options of 3600MHz out the box CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model CMK32GX4M2D3600C18 - Newegg.com G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB DDR4 3600 RAM Memory - Newegg.com If you want 3200MHz just find the 3200MHz variant of those brands.

Sure, it's fine unless he's willing to spend over $200 for RGB and racing stripes, then I'll have to say no.
