The part that divides into two 4-pin connectors leads to the motherboard. It’s also marked with a CPU label on the connector side that connects to the board.

As @The_russian mentioned before, the CPU power connector is unidirectional. It's clear that the two ends aren't identical—such as square versus hex pins—which means you shouldn't connect the incorrect end to the PSU or motherboard.
