I'm preparing a PC build and picked an Intel Core i5-12600K along with an MSI B760M-P DDR5 motherboard. I wanted to confirm if this setup supports overclocking for the processor. The main reasons were cost constraints and the need for DDR5 RAM. I haven't found a clear response on Google yet, so I'm still looking for more information.

Most users don’t need much work on the CPU except adjusting the voltage. Advanced overclocking options are usually available only on Z-series boards.

Consider your needs and compare specs. The i5-12600K offers better performance than the i5-13th series chips, especially for multitasking and light gaming. If you plan heavy workloads or future-proofing, it’s a solid choice.

It depends on your budget and goals. Usually, the option that matches your spending plan is the best. How much do you need compared to the alternatives? Is it about saving money or investing in something else?

No, this board isn't designed for overclocking. Some B760 models can (the B760M PG Riptide is the primary example), but the 12th generation SKUs have limited potential anyway. To achieve noticeable speed gains, you'd need to use lower-end 13th generation -K SKUs or non-K CPUs paired with this motherboard.

So the likelihood of finding an i5-13600 is very low in the current market. My priority isn't gaming—it's machine learning, which is my major and a beginner-level field.
