The information suggests these B450 boards require a BIOS update before installation. It’s unclear if they’re ready for direct use without the upgrade.

It seems to depend on whether it was recently built or stored. If it's new, it likely supports a BIOS that can start at 3600. If it's been idle, probably not. That's the general idea.

It depends on the specific mobo you get, you might buy one that isn't out of the box compatible while the one that was next to it on the shelf is. You can't be sure, you can only be if there's a sticker (i think) on the box or something like that. AMD provides a "loan" for a kit to update your BIOS via mail, but you decide if it's worth the trouble. https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100

I’d suggest looking for alternative options outside your local area or exploring digital solutions that don’t require hardware upgrades.

I’d suggest looking for online options or contacting a nearby store that offers BIOS updates. If you need help finding the right place, let me know!

Inquire about the board's compatibility with the Ryzen-3000. If not available, locate an alternative board that matches.

Currently, the 3600 is more affordable than the 3100, making it seem unnecessary to lower the CPU price since it offers better value.

I inquired with the shop I purchased from about upgrading it, but they confirmed what @svmlegacy states is accurate.

So do you think it’s safe to order it? Knowing I have no way of updating Bios after purchase?
