It remains a solid choice for a 4090 gaming setup at 3440x1440p. The 13th gen chip is still reasonably priced, making it a worthwhile option even if you opt for the 13700k.

The 13600k works well with the 4090, particularly at high resolutions. Many reviews use a 4090 during testing, indicating solid performance without any bottlenecks.

Higher details need only moderate processing power. Unless you're playing games, the 13600k is an excellent option.

This seems like a personal choice, but I wouldn't go for a 13600k with the 4090-10% drop in performance on certain games. If needed, it's not worth it on a new build with a 1600usd GPU. The 13900k uses 300W, while the 13700k might be a better balance, or I should hold off until Zen43D comes out.

I'm also thinking about a 13600k for my new 4090 (3700x isn't enough). My goal is around 120fps with only 1% lows in the 100-100 range. I need GStreamer to filter it on my LG C2. This chip seems perfect for 4K gaming right now, at 120Hz with manageable lows. The cost is better than the 7xx series. If you prefer lower resolutions, I'd hold off on Zen 4 3D.
