I've been working on updating my house and don’t have a dedicated workspace. Streaming games from my main computer to my smaller laptop works fine on Windows 10, but I need a monitor whenever I power it off or my internet fails. Would installing Steam on another drive make it start automatically and let me use Steam at home? Also, can I put Steam on a flash drive and run it without a computer?

Consider trying SteamOS with dual boot functionality. Activate the necessary services using systemctl enable <service>.service. Ensure your system is no older than three years. SteamOS currently runs on Debian 8, featuring the 3.16 kernel (released August 3, 2014). If you prefer a newer release, opt for Debian 9 versions. Also, let me know your streaming preference—NVIDIA GameStream, Steam Gaming, or another method?

I intend to rely solely on Steam at home (the built-in version) and have all components that are three to five years old. Affordable setup. Thanks!
