You recently reinstalled GTAV after a long break and opened it, which successfully launched Rockstar Social Club. This situation has never happened before, and searching the domain revealed it appears your account was compromised. You’re unsure how to proceed.

I can use another account if needed. This particular account should remain private unless you choose otherwise.

Report a compromised account to Rockstar here: https://support.rockstargames.com/catego...p=9c11f443. It might be hard if it hasn't happened recently. Check how they managed to take over your Rockstar account. Were you using the same password for Rockstar login as elsewhere? Do you have multi-factor authentication enabled? I'm uncertain whether updating your Rockstar email requires verification via your current address, but it's wise to change it to a unique password for safety.

This particular account has been actively playing GTA Online for the past 13 years. My investigation shows I can't separate it from the Steam and GTA Online accounts; once they're linked, removal isn't possible. I'd need to repurchase the game.

I filed a ticket based on what I believed was an email from Rockstar, but I can't locate any history of that message in my inbox. To be honest, in 2020 some friends and I all installed the 2take1 mod menu, used it for a few months, and haven’t touched it since. I recently redownloaded and found this.

GTA V came out for PC in 2015. Leaving it in 2020 suggests you played it for no more than five years. Using cheats or mod menus might have led to your account being taken over. Even if it wasn’t stolen, it would likely have been banned. Installing such tools usually means saying goodbye to your account. If the hijacking happened around 2020, recovering it now seems very unlikely.
