I restored Windows on my HTPC after using Ubuntu for a while. Now I need a dedicated GPU to play games, but I can’t get my real Windows key—maybe the installation limit was hit or it expired. Calling Microsoft seems frustrating, and I don’t want any cheats. Using cracked software isn’t what I’m going for. The cheapest option would be Kinguin or G2A. Have you used either of those for Windows keys before?

From Reddit it looks like swapping is a smarter move and saves you cash too.

I really don’t feel comfortable sending cash straight to someone, especially since it usually goes through intermediaries on those platforms.

If the issue is that the code doesn't activate and you're presented with options to re-enter a key, contact Microsoft or purchase a new key online, call Microsoft multiple times (several restarts). Just type a code on your phone, and they'll send one back for you to enter on the PC—then it should work again.

They all generate thousands of sales and I’ve purchased from at least five. Plus, PayPal is reliable too.

Is it merely a text message? Or am I required to talk? I’m too lazy for that. I have some stickers with keys from old laptops somewhere in my house; I’ll check if I can locate them. If not, I’ll purchase a cheap key and try to avoid scams.

I believe there are options for an automated system at no cost (as far as I understand), SMS messaging, and a paid phone call. I prefer the automated system: you dial, choose a menu via the phone buttons, then enter the code shown on your computer screen. After that, the robot voice clearly explains what code to input into your PC, and you simply type and listen without speaking.

I used that method with a previous laptop key and it worked, thank you! You helped me save at least €15.
