The point of diminishing returns occurs when additional investment no longer increases output proportionally. Whether 3600MHz is worthwhile depends on balancing cost against performance gains. A 3200MHz solution might suffice if it meets your needs without excessive expense.

For gaming, 3600 is ideal, but a 3200MHz Cl16 setup works too.

3600 still offers a performance boost for Zen 2. The gap between a 3600 cl16 and a 3200 cl16 kit for Zen 2 isn't very significant, so either a 3600 cl16 or a 3200 cl16/14 setup should suffice.

It seems you're suggesting 3600 is only preferable if it's a lower version. Could you clarify your request?

The core focus should be on CL16, but a 3000MHz frequency is also worth considering.

It's not a good deal. Perhaps it would be better if it cost significantly less. You might want to consider 3200 cl14 or 3600 cl16/cl14.

You're asking for clarification on why CL15 is preferable and why the CL16 3600 kit is typically more affordable.

The 3200 unit will function similarly to the 3600 model and will run marginally quicker than the 3000 version.

They match in terms of response time. If you can't improve on this RAM, opt for the 3600 CL18 package.
