No problem. The latest BIOS should support older Ryzen CPUs. You're welcome to use R3 1200 or even better R5 1600 if needed.

Only when the CPU is newer than the motherboard should an update be made. The B450 and X470 support older Ryzen CPUs from the first generation, while newer Ryzen 2000 models need a newer board. Upgrading is necessary for compatibility with newer Ryzen 3000 chips on these boards.
