It could be, but it depends. This reminds me of trying to power down something and see what happens—it might clear things out, including the RAM if the system stops working completely.

The only way to increase Minecraft server capacity is by upgrading, restarting, or pausing the server for extended periods.

Based on my observations, it is possible. The server I manage needs resetting every twelve hours or else it becomes extremely difficult to play due to severe lag. Clearing outdated files in your plugins can also make a difference. If your server is linked to Enjin and you see a server map appearing intermittently, the plugin might be causing delays while trying to update the map.

Thanks for your support. The issue began when I was playing on a server with my friends and it started to lag. I then inquired if an admin could restart the server, but they mentioned it wouldn’t help. I reached out here to verify if that was accurate.

Restarting a server provides assistance. Many bigger servers automatically restart every few hours to refresh everything, which tends to be smoother for users. RAM also plays a significant role, along with ping. A restart might help, but it isn't always the best fix. Certain heavy plugins could lead to lag.
