I recently acquired the R6 version on Uplay for free using Amazon credits. I prefer having all my games in one launcher, which makes adding friends manually on Steam frustrating. I’m considering purchasing R6 again via Steam. Will my progress and achievements from Uplay transfer to Steam? I spoke with Ubi support, who confirmed it won’t carry over any progress. However, some Reddit discussions suggest otherwise, claiming the transfer will work. I’m quite confused about this. Will it actually work? Also, note that the version I have in Uplay is Standard edition, and I might upgrade to Deluxe on Steam.

If you purchase it on Steam, you’ll still need to launch and play it via Uplay, with your progress tied to your Uplay account. Yes, you retain everything, but it feels like a waste of money to buy it again!

It depends on the game; some titles retain progress when moving from Uplay to Steam, while others don't. Check the specific game's settings or support documentation for details.

Yes. Purchasing it on Steam and starting it will initiate Uplay and launch it there. This action has no impact.

It's understandable you're confused. The UBI support mentioned it wouldn't carry over the progress.

You can easily install r6 in your Steam library as an external app and open it that way.

It's true, but it doesn't solve every problem. I prefer using a Steam stat tracker, especially after seeing this Reddit discussion. It seems more reliable than other options.
