You’re using separate partitions—one for the operating system and another for your applications. After installing Windows 10 on the OS partition, your program files should remain functional in the other partition. Just make sure the installation process completes without errors.

They will be removed, and you'll need to install them again.

They were removed because they were located on a separate partition.

Based on my observations, the setup varies widely. Some systems function well without issues, while others may reset or require reinstallation. Certain files are stored in AppData and can affect performance. Some programs need a clean install, whereas others can be reused after a restart. For frequently used tools, I reinstall them; for less-used ones, I try them only when necessary. This approach works for me, but it might not be the best strategy overall.

Both drives use the identical SSD, but I’m not sure it matters much. It might be wise to save the AppData folder and restore it once the installation is complete.

Games running on Origin, Steam (or possibly GOG) should function after a reinstall. Just point the launcher to the right location. Other programs are more complicated. When switching OS versions—such as from 8.1 to 10—I’d suggest most won’t work. If you keep the same OS version, some can run by copying program data, AppData, and Documents folders to your backup and replacing them during the new installation. Those applications won’t appear in the start menu or the Remove software list because Windows doesn’t recognize them as installed.
