Honestly, unless your watching BD content use MPC-HC or VLC, both have way better 5.1 support. My friend uses PDVD (for Blu Rays) and I don't think we've ever got 5.1 working properly. The centre output us always really quiet and subwoofer seems to be trying to play the centre feed. We've tried everything and despure this issue being easily fixed in other apps PDVD seems to override everything you do externally to its own settings.
Looking for a media player with 5.1 surround sound, support for existing videos/music, DVDs, Blu-rays, and a simple interface? I recommend exploring options like Kdenlive or Shotcut—they offer robust features without the extra network controls. Both are user-friendly and let you tweak audio/video settings as needed.
Use dvdfab/anydvd to extract the bd files to the hdd, then play them with VLC or MPC-HC.
I searched for the PDVD program and found mixed information. Some sources mention it as a media software, while others claim it contains pirated DVDs. It seems there may be confusion between legitimate media tools and unauthorized copies. If you're looking for a genuine version, I recommend checking official websites or authorized retailers.
