a nvidia gtx 1050 with 2gb ram paired with an intel core i5 2500 at 3.3ghz and 6gb ddr3 is suitable for gaming. I'm sorry if this goes to the wrong place—I wasn't sure where to share it. Edited April 19, 2020 by jayjay0479

It varies based on the games and your expectations. LoL and CSGO are good, but Doom Eternal isn't.

You likely need around 8GB of memory, yet most games work well at lower resolutions and settings, especially in multiplayer matches.

It really depends on the kinds of games you enjoy and how much you're willing to sacrifice in video quality.

Requires additional memory for these tasks. Opt for reduced configurations.

Not focused on GTA V. Overwatch and Minecraft perform better with extra memory. [Edited]

I fully support what they’re saying. If you can afford it, I suggest upgrading to a new platform. A 3200G with 16GB RAM would be ideal, but if you want more value, add another 8GB for around $720.

Used DDR3 RAM is affordable on eBay. You don’t have to purchase new because they last forever. I recently bought 16GB for 50 euros.

At this stage your CPU shows signs of wear. If your motherboard allows, an Ivy i7 remains a solid choice. Even Sandy i7s still perform well. It should run fine. It’s relatively low on the CPU side. Minecraft should function, though heavy usage might cause problems without mods. GTA V won’t work. Your processor is about two years past its midrange peak for that game’s release year. You’ll likely need to cut down resolution and graphics settings to get it running. It’s probably worth trying a budget upgrade to an i7 instead.
